Actor Shreyan Nayak wants theatres to open for his movie Chumki’s release

Post production of actor Shreyan Nayak’s film, Chumki- Se Ta Paanire Budiba Nahni Ki, has started after the unlock phase began. The film had been shot before lockdown but the coronavirus scare delayed its post-production.

“The production of the film was over before March. Just when it was going to the post-production stage, the lockdown happened and it was stalled. Thanks to the unlock process, the editing work is on. After this we will dub for it,” said the Selfish Dil actor. He added that he and his team are praying for the pandemic to end soon and the theatres to open for public so that the film can release in cinema halls.
The film also has popular television actress Upasana Mohanty, who is debuting with Chumki. Shreyan told us that the film’s story revolves around a musician’s journey from Koraput to Bhubaneswar. “The film shows some supernatural connections. It’s more of a suspense thriller,” said the actor.
Choreographer-turned-director Girish Mohanty has directed the film. The cast include Jyoti Mishra, Choudhury Bikash Das, Pradyumna Lenka, Pragyan Khatua, Pushpa Panda, Shakti Baral, Kaushik Mohapatra and comedians Jojo and Hadu. Bharadwaj Panda has penned the story while the music has been composed by Bibhuti Bhushan. “The film was shot in the beautiful locales of Manali and Ladakh. The beauty of Odisha has also been captured well through shooting in Koraput, Baripada and Bhubaneswar,” said Shreyan, who began his acting journey from theatre and then went to Mumbai for training.
