Actor Sritam Das remembers 20 years of association with Bijay Mohanty
Actor Sritam Das remembered his time spent with the late Bijay Mohanty in past 20 years in the industry. While guiding the hearse to the place where the state administration had made arrangements to give a guard of honour to the legend, the young actor recalled those days starting from the first film.
“We had more than 20 years of relationship. I started my first seven films with him. He was like a teacher for everyone who started their career with him. He was patient while working with newcomers and would guide them in many ways,” he said.
He also said that Bijay Mohanty not only taught him a lot about cinema and acting but was a fatherly figure to him. “My last film with him was Golmal Love and he was always a seeker for excellence. He would tell all of us to focus on acting and try to make the particular scene we were working on look the best. The way he was tolerant towards me and would teach me when I started my career, I have learnt to behave similarly with newcomers. That’s the very thing that I learnt from him,” Sritam said.
