The dispute between actor-MP Anubhav Mohanty and his wife Varsha Priyadarshini took a new turn after the former’s mother lodged a police complaint against her daughter-in-law at Purighat police station in Cuttack today.
She complained that the house where they stay needs repair and for this, she had asked Varsha to vacate the floor she has been staying in for 10 days. But the actress has not been cooperating. “The house is 60 years old and needs urgent repair. All of us are vacating it for 10 days, but Varsha is not ready to vacate her floor. I would want the police to look into the matter and tell her to move out of the house for at least 10 days,” Anubhav’s mother Madhusmita Mohanty wrote in her complaint.
In reply, Varsha lodged a counter complaint with the police saying that her in-laws are trying to throw her out of the house. “While I have no alternate place to stay, they are telling me to vacate the house,” she wrote in her complaint. Both of them have demanded a police inquiry into the matter.
Anubhav had filed a divorce petition in a family court in Delhi, against which Varsha had filed a domestic violence case against the actor in a Cuttack court. Later, Varsha filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking transfer of the divorce case from Delhi to Cuttack.
