BSF jawan from Rajasthan kills self in Malkangiri
KORAPUT: A BSF jawan engaged in anti-Maoist operations in Malkangiri district committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle late on Tuesday night.
Police said the deceased was identified as Shesha Karan, a resident of Rajasthan and a member of the 9th battalion of the BSF posted at Chitrakonda in the district for counter-insurgency operations. A senior BSF officer said the jawan, aged around 26, had joined the paramilitary force in 2017. On Tuesday night, he returned to the barracks inside Chitrakonda police station around 1 am and shot himself with his service rifle.
