Condition of Bijay Mohanty stable
Veteran actor Bijay Mohanty, who was hospitalised on Wednesday after having a heart attack, is now stable, according to sources. The actor has been staying with his daughter in Hyderabad and undergoing treatment in a private hospital there.
Actor Sritam Das, general secretary of Odia Cine Artiste Association, informed the media today that his condition is improving and he might be discharged very soon. “He had some health issues previously and had gone to a hospital for some tests. He was depressed recently due to a complicated appendoctomy. While leaving the hospital yesterday, he suffered a heart attack and was immediately admitted to the ICU. He was kept on ventilator. His family members informed that his condition is improving. He is under observation now,” Das said.
Mohanty’s wife, actress Tundra Ray, is also with him in Hyderabad.
After the news of his health condition spread, his fans and colleagues here from Ollywood prayed for his speedy recovery. Mohanty, who has passed out from NSD and was a contemporary of the late Om Puri, had started his acting career with the Odia film Chilika Teerey in 1977. “We all pray for his speedy recovery,” said film critic Surya Deo.
