Covid-19: Bhubaneswar reports one positive after 14 days gap, Odisha total soars to 119

BHUBANESWAR: Bhubaneswar reported the first Covid-19 positive case in 14 days, raising the Odisha total to 119. The number of infected people in Bhubaneswar rose to 47.
A 77-year-old man of Surya Nagar locality of the city tested positive for the virus. A government update said he is close relative of an earlier Covid-19 patient of the area, a 45-year-old man who had tested positive on April 7.
The number of active positive cases in Bhubaneswar became 20 and recoveries 26. Before this, the city, a hotspot, had reported the last positive case on April 15 and none in the 13 days after that. Had it not reported any positive case for one more day, it would have moved to the Orange Zone from the Red.
On Tuesday, seven persons—four from Sundargarh and three from Bhadrak district, all asymptomatic—had tested positive for Covid-19. While the number of positive cases in Bhadrak rose to 19, those in Sundargarh became 10.
The active cases now stand at 80. The four from Sundargarh district, two women aged 35 and 55 and two men aged 27 and 38, include close contacts of earlier detected Covid-19 cases. The four positive patients have been admitted in Rourkela covid hospital.
