#CovidBattle: Stage set for Odia people across the globe to sing Bande Utkal Janani today
Odias in and outside Odisha are gearing up to lend their voices to the state anthem, Bande Utkal Janani, at 5.30 this evening. This is in response to an appeal by chief minister Naveen Patnaik aimed at showing solidarity with Covid-19 warriors.
The state has been successfully containing the spread of Covid-19 and Odisha’s efforts have been lauded everywhere. “Our efforts in containing the spread have been outstanding and for that we, the Odia people, are responsible. It happened due to the Covid warriors who have been fighting from the front. I appeal to all people who have a link to Odisha to sing Bande Utkal Janani at 5.30 pm on Saturday while maintain social distance. This is to show respect and solidarity to our Covid warriors and to boost their morale. This will inspire us and strengthen our commitment to continue the fight,” the Cm had said.
Akshaya Mohanty, who stays in Rhode Island in the US, said the Odia association there is going to sing the anthem at the time given by the CM. Similarly, all Odia people in the state also have come forward to show their solidarity to the corona warriors.
