Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund gets Rs 586 crore donation for Covid care
BHUBANESWAR: The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) in Odisha has received total around Rs 586 crore donation for Covid-19, official sources said. The donation includes Rs 25.17 crore given by 30,219 individuals and Rs 560.52 crore by 58 PSUs and corporates as on July 22.
The top individual donors include Subroto Bagchi, government’s Covid spokesperson and chairman Odisha Skill Development Authority, who gave Rs 2.5 crore and Lalitendu Jena, a Bhubaneswar native, who donated Rs 50 lakh.
Rs 10 lakh each was given by Braja Mishra, a native of Sonepur district, and Niranjan Patnaik, who is the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president. Tapan Mishra, a native of Mumbai, gave Rs 5 lakh.
State PSU Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) leads the list of top corporate donors contributing the lion’s share of Rs 500 crore. Odisha State Beverages Corporation and Tata Steel donated Rs 5 crore each to CMRF Covid fund. Bandhan Bank has contributed Rs 3 crore. Odisha Construction Corporation and Cuttack Central Co-Operative Bank made a contribution of Rs 2 crore each.
Many people were donating online using the website https://cmrfodisha.gov.in while some are also sending cheques and depositing in the Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund – Covid 19 accounts in SBI, ICICI and HDFC Banks.
