Odisha CM, Andhra governor take part in Mahakumbhabhishekam at TTD’s Bhubaneswar temple


TTD priests, led by the chief priest of the Tirumala temple, A Venugopala Deekshitulu ceremoniously performed a set of religious rituals.

TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams new Balaji mandir at Bhubaneswar in Odisha was inaugurated on a ceremonious note on Thursday.
Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Andhra Pradesh governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Visakha Saradha Peetham pontiff Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati, TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy, TTD priests, officials and special invitees, took part in the Mahakumbhabhishekam of the Lord Venkateswara temple held at the Odisha capital city on Thursday.
A battery of TTD priests led by the chief priest of the Tirumala temple A Venugopala Deekshitulu ceremoniously performed a set of religious rituals including Punyahavachanam, Agni Parayanam, Kumbha Aradhana, Nivedana, Homam and Maha Purnahuti and the Maha Kumbhabhishekam was carried out in the auspicious Mithuna Lagnam between 8.50am-9.05am at the newly constructed Sri Venkateswara temple at Bhubaneswar.
Andhra Pradesh governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan welcomed TTD’s efforts in constructing a new Lord Venkateswara temple at Bhubaneswar and felt that those devotees from different parts of Odisha, who could not go to Tirumala due to their age, health, finance and other reasons, can now seek the divine blessings of the almighty at the new TTD temple constructed at Bhubaneswar.
TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy who spoke later, listed out the numerous initiatives launched by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in the last three years in particular, to spearhead the propagation of the Hindu Sanathana Dharma and the glory of Lord Venkateswara worldwide.
“TTD has constructed 501 temples across the backward areas of Andhra Pradesh and is now in the process of completing the construction of 1,130 more temples. To promote the worship of the sacred cow, TTD has donated a cow and a calf free of cost to 171 temples and Hindu religious institutions across the country so far,” YV Subba Reddy underlined.
He further added that the TTD has so far constructed replica temples of Lord Venkateswara at New Delhi, Kurukshetra, Kanyakumari, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar. More new temples are being constructed at Amaravati, Jammu, Navi Mumbai, Chennai, Ulundurpet etc. YV Subba Reddy reiterated that the TTD was committed to construct at least one replica temple of Lord Venkateswara in every state and union territory of the country.
Visakha Saradha Peetham pontiff Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati hailed the efforts of the TTD in showcasing the great Hindu culture by constructing more and more temples across the country.
Meanwhile, scores of devotees from different parts of Odisha took part in the Srinivasa Kalyanam held at the newly inaugurated temple premises at Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
