Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik kept in dark about violations in Puri project: BJP MP
BHUBANESWAR: Sundargarh BJP MP Jual Oram on Sunday waded into the controversy over the Puri heritage corridor project by alleging that chief minister Naveen Patnaik was kept in the dark about the alleged violations in constructions.
The BJP veteran said at the behest of some officials, the work is being carried out illegally and urged the Orissa high court to put a stay on the ongoing construction within the 100-metre radius of the Jagannath Temple. “Construction should stop immediately till the court resolves it,” he told the media.
He also mounted an attack on Puri MP Pinaki Mishra alleging that he was lying about the work while cornering his party colleague and Puri MLA Jayant Sarangi for supporting the project recently. Jual said both BJP state president Samir Mohanty and national spokesperson Sambit Patra visited Puri and found blatant violations in the work. “They will discuss the issue with our central leaders,” he said.
