Odisha govt issues guidelines for spot admission to Plus III courses

BHUBANESWAR: The higher education department on Monday issued a notification saying it would conduct spot admission for Plus III first-year courses.
The government has also issued guidelines for spot admission, which will be conducted between November 23 and November 27.
The application process of Plus III first-year admission started from September 8. The first and second merit lists were published on September 28 and October 22 respectively. Spot admission will be conducted for the seats left vacant after the second round of selection.
According to the guidelines issued by the department for spot admission in degree colleges, students who had submitted common application form (CAF) online but could not submit fees can take part in the process. If students fail to get seats in the first and second round of admission, they can apply for spot admission.
Students who were selected during the first or second round and failed to take admission can also take part in this process.
Those who had taken admission during first or second round but want to change the college or the subject or both can also apply for spot admission. Fresh or new applications will not be entertained, said official sources.
The second round of admission ends on Tuesday. The subject-wise and categorise-wise vacancies will be available on the department website’s on November 9. Students can log into the SAMS website to opt for spot admission. They can submit a handwritten application in the format given by the department, edited CAF and marksheet addressed to the principal of the college where the vacancy exists.
Students can drop this application in the dropbox installed in colleges between November 10 and November 13. Colleges will select the names of the candidates and display them on the college notice board on November 17 (3 pm). Selected students’ data will be uploaded on the college e-space by 6 pm the same day. Students will deposit admission fees online by November 21. Spot admission will start from November 23 and continue till November 27 (6pm).
