Odisha minister Susanta Singh tests positive for Covid-19
BHUBANESWAR: Odisha’s rural development minister Susanta Singh tested positive for Covid-19, the minister said.
“I have tested positive for Corona and I am stable now. Those who have came in contact with me recently are requested to stay isolated and get tested,” the minister twitted.
He is the first minister’s in Naveen’s council to have tested positive for the virus. Singh had attended the Independence Day celebrations in Balasore as chief guest.
Along with former minister and Congress leader Prakash Debta, Singh had also attended the inaugural of a chowk at his native place Sohela in Bargarh district on August 9.
Meanwhile, 2,244 more tested positive for the virus on Monday, raising total infected in the state to 62,294. Ten more persons died of viral infections raising the virus death toll to 353.
The state now has 19,611 active positive cases.
