Odisha: Rayagada police solve loot mystery, recover robbed cash

RAYAGADA: The Rayagada district police cracked a dacoity case and arrested four persons, including the mastermind, apart from recovering the entire looted cash of around Rs 24 lakh from the accused on Friday.
According to police, on August 10 one J Eswar Rao of a private money collection agency had complained at the Rayagada police station that at least three masked miscreants looted Rs 23, 99,797 from one of their collection agent identified as Anil Kumar Garadia (32), while he was carrying the cash in his motorcycle.
“After receiving the complaint a special team was formed and investigation was launched on a priority basis. During investigation, we found Anil masterminded the robbery with the help of his associates,” said SP (Rayagada) Saravana Vivek M.
“During interrogation Anil confessed that he had entered into a criminal conspiracy with three other persons to make a quick buck. After handing over the cash to his associates, he reached his office and informed them that the cash was looted while he was carrying it in his motorcycle,” the SP said.
Police said the entire looted amount has been recovered and Anil was arrested. The other three arrested persons are Bibek Garadia (22), Baip Mishal (28) and Sudhansu Mishal (20).
