OHPC pays interim dividend of Rs 30 crore to Odisha government
BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited (OHPC), a gold-rated PSU, on Friday paid an interim dividend of Rs 30 crore to the state government for the year 2019-20 financial year.
Chairman-cum-managing drector, OHPC Bishnupada Sethi handed over the cheque to chief secretary Asit Tripathy at the state secretariat. Pravakar Mohanty, director (finance) of the PSU was present on the occasion.
The decision to pay dividend of Rs 30 crore was taken at the board of directors meeting of the OHPC on July 16. The remaining amount would be paid after finalization of accounts for the 2019-20 fiscal year, said an official statement issued by OHPC. It had paid dividend of Rs 31.57 crore during 2018-19 financial year.
OHPC official sources said the post-tax profit (provisional) of OHPC during the 2019-20 financial year was estimated at around Rs 134.05 crore against Rs 105.26 crore pegged in the previous 2018-19 fiscal year.
The PSU has earned Rs 471.24 crore by selling 5878.83 million units of power in 2019-20 while in 2018-19, it had earned Rs 478.83 crore by selling 5897.18 million units of power.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, the PSU has extended all support in managing two COVID hospitals in Gajapati district (112-bed) and another in Balasore district (120-bed).
