Pradeep Maharathy, 7-time MLA from Pipli, dies at 65

BHUBANESWAR: Senior BJD leader and seven-time Pipli MLA Pradeep Maharathy, who had tested positive for Covid-19 last month, died at a private hospital here early on Sunday morning. Sources at SUM Ultimate Medicare, where he was admitted, said Maharathy died of multi-organ failure leading to cardiac arrest.
Hundreds of supporters, including his daughter Pallavi, bid farewell to the Pipli strongman while his son Rudra performed the last rites at Swargadwar in Puri. The 65-year-old Maharathy had tested positive for Covid on September 14 and was admitted to SUM Covid hospital the same day.
