BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) signed an MoU with TimesPro (SAP Partner) for a digital skilling project on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day on Wednesday.
In a digital meeting, the MoU was shared between OSDA CEO and director-employment Rashmita Panda, Times Professional Learning CEO Anish Srikrishna and SAP COO (digital services) Rajesh Musaliyath.
As a part of the digital skilling project, TimesPro will train OSDA-nominated teachers from government engineering and PG management colleges of Odisha in SAP ERP courses through a virtual train-the-trainer programme.
With a vision of creating a Skilled-in-Odisha workforce, the trained teachers will then provide virtual training in SAP ERP courses to students from these colleges, enabling them to apply for SAP global certification and compete in the global marketplace for better opportunities. It will also create a talent pool for the information technology (IT) industry in India in general, and Odisha in particular.
TimesPro will offer 2000 SAP student site licences and certification access for the students, as a part of this project.
Though chief minister Naveen Patnaik was not present in the meeting, he sent a message, saying, “I am glad to learn that in these testing times, when the Covid-19 pandemic has raised new challenges to mankind, the skill eco-system of Odisha has taken a giant step forward in innovation for facing the emergent challenges. The partnership with IT giant SAP and TimesPro will enable our engineering students greatly to get trained in SAP ERP courses and will, in turn, create a talent pool for the IT industry. I am confident that these collaborations will lead to more opportunities for our youth at the global level and will make skill aspirational for them.”
Anish Srikrishna said, “We are happy to partner with OSDA and participate in the Skilled-in-Odisha initiatives. TimesPro strives to provide learner-centric, industry-relevant, technology-supported and employment-focused education, which the digital skilling project in partnership with SAP, will help fulfil.”
