Bhubaneswar: Cops launch manhunt for abducted businessman

SAMBALPUR: A 63-year-old city-based businessman was allegedly abducted by a group of armed men when he had gone to oversee the construction of boundary wall arund his land at Sason under Sason police limits on Friday.
Police said Naresh Agrawal of Baraipali under Ainthapali police station of Sambalpur city had gone to the construction site in the morning to check the progress of the work. The incident took place when he was about to leave the place to go to his home in his car. Police said another car arrived at the spot at that time and a group of armed men emerged from it. They first deflated the tyre of Naresh’s car and abducted him after intimidating him with arms.
Deepak Agrawal, son of the victim, has lodged an FIR in connection with the incident in Sason police station.
The family members of Naresh told the police that they do not have any animosity with anyone.
Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the kidnap. However, police have formed multiple teams and launched a search operation.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Sambalpur, Kanwar Vishal Singh visited the site and interacted with the family members of the victim after the incident took place.
