Silk City wears festive look
BERHAMPUR: Despite the Covid-19 situation, Silk city wore a festive look on the eve of Diwali on Friday.
Women thronged jewellery stores to buy gold or silver ornaments on Dhanteras,. “The sales have been more than the other days,” a jewellery store owner said. “The jewellery store owners followed the guidelines of the district administrations in their outlets,” said P Satya Narayan, president of the Berhampur Jewellery Association.
Similarly, north Indians settled in Berhampur made a beeline for sweet shops. “We will distribute sweets among our friends and relatives on this occasion,” said a Gujarati.
