5.76 lakh meals served by Railways in ECoR jurisdiction

BHUBANESWAR: As many as 5.76 lakh meals have been served by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to the passengers of Shramik Special trains passing the East Coast Railway (ECoR) territory.
IRCTC has served the meals during the last 28 days. These meals have been served at Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Bhadrak, Berhampur and Vizianagaram.
So far Odisha has received around 175 Shramik Special trains between May 1 and May 30. Number of trains coming from Surat may be reduced owing to less demand. Some trains are getting less passengers, said a senior railway officer.
Railway Board chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav has written to chief secretaries of states and Union territories to provide projected number of Shramik Special Trains required for residual movement of stranded persons from the states/UTs along with tentative schedule for movement of these trains.
