Bhubaneswar: BJB College plans to reduce hostel fees

BHUBANESWAR: BJB Autonomous College is planning to reduce the hostel fees for the benefit of the students. Keeping the Covid situation in mind, the college authorities have considered the demands of students to bring down the fees from Rs 11,000 per annum.
The authorities will decided the reduced amount soon.
Recently, the college here had issued a notice to the students to pay Rs 11,000 per annum as their hostel fee. “We are at home since March 17 after the state government ordered the closure of educational institutions across the state because of the Covid-19 situation. Why will we pay the whole amount without staying in the hostel? We think the amount should be reduced,” one of the hostel boarders had said. College principal Suprava Pattnaik said they would hold a meeting on the issue next week. “We are reviewing certain components based on which the charges can be deducted,” she added.
