Bhubaneswar: BMC debars labourers from outside state after 34 test Covid-19 positive

BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has decided not to entertain labourers from outside the state after 34 labouers who were working in an industrial unit and were later in home quarantine tested positive for Covid-19.
The BMC has notified that even from within the state from five hotspot districts, no labouers can come and work in capital city till July end.
“If there is any pressing need of labouers of outside state or from hotspot districts to be used, their sample should be tested and results of test should be sent to BMC to take a decision on their engagement,” said BMC commissioner prem Chandra Chaudhry.
