Dharmendra Pradhan appeals people to make vaccination a Janandolan
BHUBANESWAR: On the occasion of Raja festival, Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday appealed to the people of Odisha to make vaccination a Janandolan (people’s movement). He also encouraged people to continue to follow Covid appropriate behaviours.
In a video message, Pradhan extended best wishes to people of Odisha on the occasion of Raja Parba and requested them to make the mass vaccination drive starting from June 21 a huge success.
He said Raja is a great festival to meet with friends and enjoy the day by wearing a new dress, singing songs, having sweets and cakes, staging dance, drama and other entertainment programmes on this day. But this time people have to celebrate the festival at home due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“Now it is our duty to wear masks, maintain social distance and take vaccines. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the countrymen to take part in the vaccination drive in order to fight against Covid-19. It is my request to everybody to participate in the ‘Free Vaccines For All’ drive starting from June 21,” said the Union minister.
He tweeted that the ‘Free Vaccines For All’ drive will be a game changer in India’s Covid fight. “Centre is making every effort to enhance vaccine production and expedite vaccination, including supplying 75 per cent of the total vaccines produced to states free of cost,” he added.
He said vaccines are absolutely essential to save lives and defeat Covid. “We should be proud of our doctors, scientists and frontline workers for this,” he added.
