Odisha: Class X term exam deferred to January 5

BHUBANESWAR: The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, on Tuesday rescheduled the summative examination date for Class X students to January 5 from December 27.
The exams were rescheduled as they were coinciding with the Christmas holidays. The exams will continue till January 8, said Nihar Mohanty, vice-president of BSE.
“Around 5.70 lakh students will appear in the exam this year. A database is being prepared for the assessment,” he added.
According to the revised pattern implemented from the 2021-22 academic session, there will be two examinations, one at the end of each term. The first term-end exam will be conducted from January 5 while the second term-end exam will be held from April 22.
The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions of 50 marks and subjective questions of 30 marks. Questions will be from first 50% of the syllabus. Evaluation will be done by a neutral school and marks will be uploaded on the board’s portal, official sources said.
