Odisha: Vaccine drive deadline for health workers now February 25

BHUBANESWAR: The health and family welfare department on Sunday extended the deadline for the vaccination of healthcare workers to February 25.
All the districts were supposed to achieve the 100% coverage target with regard to the first dose of the vaccine among the healthcare workers by February 13. However, as the districts have not been able to achieve it, the ministry of health and family welfare has extended the deadline,” Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, additional chief secretary of the department, said in letter.
All the districts are to closely monitor this to ensure that all the registered beneficiaries, who have missed the shot, are given the opportunity at least twice to come and get inoculated, Mohapatra added. Message must be sent to them during session scheduling.
The second dose of the vaccine for the health care workers, which is 28 days after the first dose, will commence from Monday. The districts are also requested to ensure this and schedule sessions accordingly.
