Orissa High Court wants vaccinations for all prisoners

CUTTACK: The Orissa high court on Tuesday directed the government to ensure Covid-19 vaccination for prisoners in jails across the state. The HC issued the direction after amicus curiae Gautam Mishra pointed out that many prison inmates may not have documents for registration on the CO-WIN portal. The bench of Chief Justice S Muralidhar and Justice B P Routray said, “Accordingly, it is directed that the state government will make appropriate arrangements to ensure that no prison inmate is denied vaccination on the ground that the inmate is unable to get registered on the CO-WIN portal. Alternate arrangements should be made to ensure that vaccination is not denied to such inmate.” Inspired By
