Bhubaneswar: Nomination papers and affidavits submitted by the candidates contesting for the posts of zilla parishad members will now be hosted on the official website of the district concerned apart from being displayed on the notice board of the election officer from the date of filing till the declaration of results.
The State Election Commission has recently issued a directive to the district collectors in this regard.
The state government has recently promulgated an ordinance amending the panchayat laws in which a statutory provision was made to submit the affidavits for candidates contesting different posts. The ordinance also has the provision of imprisonment up to six months or fine or both for giving false information. TNN
