Schools in capital to begin preparations for boards next wk

BHUBANESWAR: Schools in the city are busy preparing students for the Term 1 CBSE board exams, which will begin in the third week of November. For the first time, the exams will be conducted in multiple choice format, as per the revised pattern.
Many city schools have started conducting mock tests in both online and offline mode to make students acquainted with the new pattern. The attendance of students in offline exams is encouraging, said the authorities of various city schools. “ We are happy to see that many are attending practice tests and pre-boards in the school,” said Niharika Gantayat, academic supervisor of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur.
The CBSE has divided the board exams into two parts, Term 1 and Term 2. The Term 1 exam will be a 90-minute paper and contain objective type questions, while Term 2 will be a 120-minute exam with subjective type questions. The Term 1 exam will start at 11.30 am. Twenty minutes, instead of earlier 15, will be given to examinees to read the questions. The results will be out after the Term 1 exam.
