Two more die of Covid 19 in Odisha, state death toll rises to 17

BHUBANESWAR: Two more persons died of Covid-19 in Odisha increasing the death toll due to the virus in state to 17, the health department said.
“Regret to report demise of two Covid positive cases of Cuttack while under treatment in hospital. One was a 71-year-old male who was also suffering from infected diabetic foot, diabetes and chronic kidney disease. The other was a 53-year old male who was also suffering from diabetes,” the health department tweeted.
Another Covid positive man from Cuttack died due to co-morbidities raising the number of Covid patients dying due to non-Covid reasons to seven. “An 80-year-old Covid positive Male of Cuttack passed away in hospital due to intestinal obstruction with sepsis and multi organ dysfunction syndrome,” the health department updated.
As many as 167 more tested positive for the virus raising the number of people infected to 5,470.
The new positive cases have spread to 18 districts including the highest 41 from Gajapati followed by 30 in Ganjam.
