VP to launch national deep-sea fishing permit system in Odisha

In a landmark initiative, vice-president CP Radhakrishnan has unveiled a national framework designed to promote sustainable high-seas fishing operations. Alongside, he introduced the Odisha Deep Sea Fishing Mission, which aims to establish the region as an export hub. This framework allows regulated fishing activities for Indian-flagged vessels beyond national waters while ensuring traceability and monitoring, ultimately boosting fisher incomes and fostering infrastructure and market linkages to enhance the Blue Economy.
