Pratap Sarangi seeks Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik help for those without ration cards

BHUBANESWAR: Union minister Pratap Sarangi on Thursday urged chief minister Naveen Patnaik to issue direction to the district authorities to supply food and ration to the needy, homeless and destitute, who don’t have ration cards.
In a letter to Naveen, the Union minister urged to prepare a gram panchayat-wise list of needy and destitute people without ration cards. He said the move will ensure that not a single person in the state goes to sleep with empty stomach during the lockdown period in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. “In Odisha, several instances have come to notice, where despite the best efforts of the authorities, the food/ration could not reach a significant number of poor, destitute and homeless people not having ration cards,” said Sarangi in his letter
