Students from Odisha stuck outside cry for help

BHUBANESWAR: With the lockdown being extended until May 3, students from Odisha stuck in different parts of the country are worried as they have or will soon run out of both food and money.
An overwhelming majority of these students do not know how to cook and would largely depend on small eateries or restaurants. But the closure of eateries has added to their woes. With barely any money left with them, every day has become a struggle for survival.
“Around 70 of us, all Odia students, are putting up in a rented accommodation at Guruvayur in Kerala to continue our bachelor in education (BEd). We had received ration from the local administration 20 days ago. But all that is nearly over and we are also running out of cash,” Brundabani Mohanty, BEd student of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Guruvayur, said.
More than 1,000 students from Odisha are stranded at different places across the country. They want to return home. and have requested the state government to help them out.
