Survey on for Gangadhar Meher University’s 2nd campus

SAMBALPUR: The authorities of the Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) recently conducted a survey and carried out the zoning work on the land, which has been allotted to it for the construction of a second campus at Badsinghari near Basantpur on the outskirts of the city.
A team of experts from Rajasthan had been roped in for the job. Officials said the varsity got the possession of 46.820 acres of land at Badsinghari on May 18 during the nationwide lockdown. Subsequently, the varsity authorities requested the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to conduct the survey of the land before proceeding for a preparation of the master plan for the construction of buildings on it.
The team, which was engaged by the CPWD, demarcated the land and conducted a primary survey. They will also give a tentative layout for the construction on the land.
The institution was established in 1944. It was upgraded to a university in 2015.
